Masked intruders to a Charlestown, United Kingdom, home fled Saturday morning when they encountered resistance from resident Lance Corporal Wayne O'Mahoney, who fought them off bare fisted — and bare assed.O'Mahoney 41, and his partner, Gemma, awoke to the sounds of burglars early Saturday morning. Without bothering to dress, O'Mahoney went downstairs and struggled with three intruders wearing ski masks. According to O'Mahoney, two of the burglars ran off, but a third, armed with a knife, grabbed the residents' car keys and attempted to escape in O'Mahoney's vehicle.
"As soon as he got in the car he was waving this knife at me and I thought 'there's only one way to stop him,'" O'Mahoney explains in a BBC news report. "So I punched clean through the driver's window and I just kept hitting him until he got out."
"The only thing is, I was a little bit naked because I sleep in my birthday suit," he noted.
"What the neighbours were thinking I don't know because they were all looking out at this naked man shouting at his car at six in the morning."
The would-be car thief escaped on foot. Police are trying to locate witnesses who could help locate the intruder, who may have injuries from broken window glass.
Lance Corporal O'Mahoney, a veteran of Iraq, is scheduled to be sent to Afghanistan.
If nothing else, the brave, bare O'Mahoney certainly showed his neighbors one thing: He's got balls.
